Interactions with Other Medications and Health Conditions

Always inform your doctor about all medications you’re taking, including over-the-counter drugs, herbal supplements, and recreational drugs. This includes nitrates, often prescribed for chest pain. Combining these with Levitra can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.

Levitra can interact with certain antifungal medications, such as ketoconazole and itraconazole. Your doctor might adjust your Levitra dosage or suggest an alternative treatment.

Men with heart conditions should discuss Levitra use with their cardiologist. Levitra can affect blood pressure, potentially exacerbating existing heart problems. Similar conversations are needed for men with liver or kidney disease, as these organs process Levitra.

High blood pressure and low blood pressure can both affect Levitra’s efficacy and safety. Your doctor needs to know about your blood pressure levels before prescribing.

Always consult a healthcare professional before starting Levitra if you have a history of stroke, heart attack, or vision problems, including a rare eye condition called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION).

Levitra can cause visual disturbances, such as blurred vision or changes in color perception. If you experience these side effects, contact your doctor immediately. The same applies to sudden hearing loss or prolonged painful erection (priapism).
