Monitoring for Side Effects

Carefully watch for any unusual symptoms. Common side effects of amoxicillin include diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Calpol (paracetamol) may cause stomach upset in some individuals.

If you experience a severe allergic reaction–such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, or hives–seek immediate medical attention. This is a medical emergency.

Monitor your child for changes in behavior or unusual tiredness. These can be signs of side effects.

Pay attention to bowel movements. Changes in bowel habits, particularly severe diarrhea, require consultation with a doctor.

Note any skin rash or itching. These can indicate an allergic reaction and need prompt attention.

Keep a record of your child’s symptoms, including the time of onset and severity. This will assist your doctor in assessing the situation.

Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any concerns about side effects, even if they seem minor. Don’t hesitate to seek professional advice.
