Second month of accutane

Stay hydrated! Drinking plenty of water is key during your second month on Accutane. Aim for at least 8 glasses daily; more if you’re exercising or experiencing dry skin. This helps your body process the medication and counteracts dryness.

Expect increased dryness. Your skin will likely be drier than the first month. Invest in a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer and lip balm. Consider a humidifier for your home, especially at night. Apply moisturizer immediately after showering while your skin is still damp to lock in hydration.

Monitor your lips closely. Chapped, bleeding lips are common. Use a thick, protective balm frequently–even throughout the day. Consider a balm with SPF for added protection. If cracking is severe, consult your dermatologist.

Don’t forget sunscreen! Accutane makes your skin highly sensitive to the sun. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher every day, regardless of weather. Reapply every two hours, especially after swimming or sweating.

Schedule regular check-ups. Your dermatologist will monitor your progress and adjust your dosage if needed. Don’t hesitate to contact them with any questions or concerns throughout the month. Open communication is crucial for best results.
